The AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, a program of the American Cancer Society, provides a safe, supportive, and self-sufficient home away from home for people who need to come to one of the Boston area hospitals for their outpatient cancer treatment. Since opening in 2008, the Lodge has helped more than 3,594 guests from more than 49 states and 7 international countries by providing more than 101,436 nights of free lodging, saving them over $25 million.
The Lodge has an ongoing need for many types of items. For a full list of needs and more information on how to donate:
Project Bread brings a fresh approach to ending hunger. These are our goals: to promote sustainable and reliable access to healthy food for all, to invest in the strength and resiliency of local communities, and to collaborate with others in building a robust regional food system.
With the support of our partners, donors, corporate sponsors, individuals—and tens of thousands of Walkers—we work to break the cycle of hunger and poverty by devising, funding, advocating for, and facilitating solutions that change lives across the Commonwealth. As the only statewide anti-hunger organization, we listen and learn, identify needs and opportunities, and connect people, resources, and programs—in ways both tried and new.
In 2018, Boston HSMAI raised $1,860 for Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger
